What Makes Ghost Plates Special?

Ghost plates represent a more subtle approach to premium number plate design. Like our Shadow plates, they combine two layers of precision-cut 4D acrylic characters, but with a refined ghost effect that creates sophisticated depth without being overly bold. This innovative design delivers a premium, custom look that's perfect for those who prefer understated elegance while remaining completely road legal.

Size Options

The standard UK size for number plates are 520mm by 111mm. We also offer shortened plates cut to your exact requirements with a 16mm margin on all edges for a clean, professional finish. Unlike competitors, we custom-cut each shortened plate rather than using pre-made sizes. If you need a specific size, please state this in the special requests box after purchase. Legally, margins cannot be less than 11mm.

Delivery Times

Orders are manufactured Monday to Saturday for quick turnaround.

Legality & Compliance

All our plates use the Charles Wright font (the legal UK road font) and include our company name, postcode and BSAU number as required by law. The DVLA confirms that three-dimensional characters are legal and compliant with road laws, including '4D' number plates.

Legal Document Requirements

We are legally required to verify that each registration is being sent to its entitled owner. After placing your order, please email a clear photo of one document from each section below to kwkustomsonline@gmail.com

Identity documents (to confirm name and address):

• Driving licence
• Utility, Council Tax or rates bill from the last 6 months
• Bank or building society statement from the last 6 months
• National identity card
• Passport (name only)
• Bank or building society debit or credit card (name only)
• Police warrant card (name only)
• Armed forces identity card (name only)

Proving you can use the registration number:

• Vehicle registration certificate (V5C or V5CNI)
• New keeper supplement (V5C/2 or V5C/2NI)
• Certificate of entitlement (V750 or V750NI)
• Retention document (V778)
• Vehicle tax or SORN renewal reminder (V11 or V11NI)
• Temporary registration certificate (V379 or V379NI)
• Number plate authorisation certificate (V948) with official DVLA/DVSA stamp
• Electronic number plate authorisation certificate (eV948)
• Letter of authorisation from fleet operator with document reference number

The photo must show the whole document including the reference number.

What About Show Plates?

KW Kustoms does not sell show plates, tinted plates, blank plates or those with non-standard spacing. We only produce fully road legal plates with standard spacing as it appears on your V5C.

Can I Add a Slogan?

We do not add slogans or custom text to our number plates as this is not road legal.

Warranty

All plates come with a 12 month warranty covering manufacturing defects or naturally occurring issues. Customer-inflicted damage is not covered. Contact us via email or our contact page for warranty claims.
